Manchester Airport to Install Boarding Bridges

Manchester Airport has signed a contract with engineering company ADELTE to design, manufacture and install 11 new passenger boarding bridges as part the first phase of a GBP1 billion (EUR1.1 billion) Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP).

Estimated to be installed in late 2018 or early 2019, the boarding bridges aim to protect passengers from exposure to the often inclement weather in the north of the UK, as well as allow for more efficient and rapid turnarounds at Pier 1 of Terminal 2.

With the new complete development, expected to be operational by 2020, the airport will be able to grow alongside a thriving northern economy to handle 45 million passengers a year, an increase of almost 20 million compared to this year.
