The Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia revealed that in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, Slovenia welcomed some 1.9 million overnight guests, a five percent increase over the same period in 2016.

From January – March, the majority of visitors chose to stay at a hotel, 72 percent of all overnight bookings.

During the reviewed period, both domestic and international arrivals rose seven percent over 2016, while overnight stays increased four percent and five percent, respectively.

The positive figures bring the destination closer to its target of exceeding 11 million overnight stays by the end of this year.
