Tourism Ireland Strengthens US Tourism

Tourism Ireland has launched its new strategy to increase US tourist numbers.

The strategy was launched by Brendan Griffin, minister, tourism and sport, Ireland, and aims to build on recent successes and anticipate future opportunities and challenges.

Tourism Ireland’s new strategy sets out ambitious targets which aims to see the country welcome two million US visitors per year by 2021, representing growth of 23 percent; and will see revenue generated by US holidaymakers increase by 33 percent, to EUR1.37 billion per year.

“As we reflect on 2017, which was another record-breaking year for Irish tourism, it is important that we also look to the future [...],” outlined Griffin. “I want to compliment Tourism Ireland on their new marketing strategy for the US market, which sets out ambitious, but achievable growth targets.”
