Tourism Ireland Leads US Sales Mission

Tourism Ireland’s annual Jump into Ireland sales blitzes across the US recently kicked off with Houston (Texas), Tampa (Florida) and Atlanta (Georgia) being the first destinations on the route.

In February, a delegation of 18 tourism companies from Ireland and the US, led by Tourism Ireland, undertook a busy schedule of B2B events at each stop.

Showcasing Ireland via a 60-minute interactive showcase, the sales blitz also gives participating companies from Ireland a platform to promote and sell their products and services to key American decision-makers, as well as network with travel and lifestyle journalists.

Boston (Massachusetts), Chicago (Illinois) and Seattle (Washington), are also set to host similar events this April; and the same applies for California – Silicon Valley, Orange County and San Fernando Valley – this November.

Alison Metcalfe, head, North America, Tourism Ireland, noted, “In 2017, we welcomed a record 1.83 million North American visitors to the island of Ireland. Our aim is to deliver a five percent increase in visitor numbers and seven percent increase in revenue from North America in 2018.”
